How To Eat Bread And Stay Lean?

“How do you stay so lean while eating bread and not even that, white bread!”

A question I get asked all the time.

“How do you stay so lean while eating bread and not even that, white bread!”

Well this is how

Bread makes you fat?

You put weight on when you’re eating more calories than you’re burning.

Any food can make you fat if you’re eating too much.

The only difference when it comes to calories coming from different foods Is how full they make you feel.

300 calories from a chicken breast will make you more full than 300 calories from coke.

Therefore you’re less likely to over eat.

How can you have “White bread”?!

Brown rice an brown bread have a lower GI (glycaemic index) than white carbohydrates.

Glycaemic index measures how quickly a food after consuming raises blood sugar.

The higher the GI the more rapid the increase in blood glucose and the faster the fall in blood glucose after eating.

Brown bread has a lower GI will raise blood sugar slower and give you a more sustained level of blood sugar than white bread because brown bread contains the whole grain and therefore more fibre.

However, whenever I eat white bread I’ll have it with protein or some fruit/vegetables which contain fibre and slow the digestion down.

The fibre in the fruit or vegetables acts as the fibre that was in the brown bread and therefore has the same effect on blood sugar.

If you’re having white bread just make sure you have it with fruit or veg.

Bread contains gluten

Yes bread does contain gluten but unless you have Coeliac disease which is a serious auto immune condition you can eat gluten.

If you have Coeliac disease you would get seriously ill and would know.

Many people don’t digest bread that well and if you’re one of them possibly avoid it but if you digest it well you can include bread into a healthy weight loss diet.

Closing Thoughts

1.Eating bread will not make you fat. Eating more calories than you burn will make you fat.

  1. White bread can be part of healthy diet just make sure you eat with some protein or vegetables to slow down digestion

3.Unless you have Coeliac disease bread is fine to eat and is a great source of carbohydrates . . .
